Essay:Archon Arcana Survey Results June 2021

In June of 2021, in an effort to make sure Archon Arcana was adequately serving the KeyForge Community, we conducted a survey. Below are the results and conclusions.

Question 1

How often do you visit Archon Arcana?

Of the 58 responses received to the survey, 40 responders said they used Archon Arcana often or very often.

Question 2

What are the main reasons you use Archon Arcana?

Respondents were able to answer this in a free form manner, and the responses were then categorized to align to the features of the site. Cards (36) and Rules (24) were the most commonly mentioned features.

Question 3

How satisfied are you with the following features or sections of Archon Arcana?:

Card Pages

53 of the participants said that they were satisfied or very satisfied with the Card Pages. Considering the work that was done a while back to re-template the card query and include the rulings and related data, this was a very nice response to see.

Card Gallery

49 of the participants said they were satisfied or very satisfied with the Card Gallery. Again, a lot of work was put into the design of the gallery, so it's nice to see that we seem to be hitting close to the mark here.

Deck Search

While 21 of the respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the Deck Search, 16 of the participants were unfamiliar with the deck search feature and 18 users were neutral about it.

Essays

23 of the participants were unfamiliar with the Essay feature, 18 were neutral.

News/Calendar

21 respondents advised they were unfamiliar with the News/Calendar feature. Admittedly, during the pandemic, there has not been a lot of news from Fantasy Flight, so this may be a result of that.

Organized Play

18 respondents reported they were unfamiliar with the Organized Play feature. Again, this may be a result of the pandemic, as Organized Play is just now resuming.

Rules

47 respondents reported they were satisfied or very satisfied with the Rules feature.

Spoilers

39 responses indicated users that were satisfied or very satisfied with the Spoilers feature. Spoilers are a very work intensive feature to maintain, so it's nice to see that the work is appreciated.

Artists

Artists were spread pretty evenly between Unfamiliar (14), Neutral (11), Satisfied (15), and Very Satisfied (17).

New Player Guide

18 respondents were unfamiliar with the New Player Guide, those that were familiar, were predominantly neutral (17).

Master Vault Statistics

32 of the respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the Master Vault stats.

Question 4

For features above that you are not satisfied with, what changes would you like to see that would enable those features to meet your needs better?

For this question participants were able to provide feedback about features and how they might be improved.

There were a few comments related to changes that could be done to make searching work better, as well as multiple requests to provide more information on community based events and some improvements that could be made to the rules navigation and the New player Guide.

Question 5

Here's your chance to be creative. Are there any features not on the list that you would like to see on Archon Arcana? What changes would you like to see?

Participants provided a lot of great suggestions for improving the site. Again, there were a few requests for more information regarding community based events as well as improving searching, better utilizing the Essay space, and getting some more card and deck statistics.

Anything else you would like to tell us?

Almost all responses here were positive and supportive of the Archon Arcana project.
