National Championships, (formerly known as Grand Championships under Fantasy Flight Games) are high-level Organized Play tournaments that typically take place only once a year per nation or territory. National Championships are considered Official Tournaments and are run in both the Archon and the Alliance formats. Tournaments are conducted under the Playstile 2LO structure.
Under the current award structure, the top 2 players from each National Championship (in Archon and Alliance) receive an invitation to that respective format's World Championship, with the champion receiving a first round bye.
Under FFG, Grand Championship players were awarded 20 Æmbershards for participation, along with 10 Æmbershards per win and an additional 150 for the winner. The winner also received a unique "Grand Champion" KeyForge deck (with a different card back and "Grand Champion" in the name, but otherwise a regular procedurally generated KeyForge deck).
2025
The 2025 National Championships were held from August 23rd to October 14th 2025. Across 11 different countries, 33 championship tournaments were held (11 Archon + 11 Alliance + 11 Sealed).

The 2023 National Championships were held from August 4th to October 8th 2023, and was the first year National Championships were conducted under Ghost Galaxy. Across 12 different countries, 23 championship tournaments were held (12 Archon + 11 Alliance) with a total of approximately 520 tournament entrants (includes players who attended multiple championships).
